Chapter 2: Loved ones

A long tunnel was the only thing to be seen as I walked along side Chōjírō. He had my bag in hand even though I objected to his kindness, now it was just an awkwardly silent walk between us. I had to change that.

"So, your my papa's assistant captain?" I ask sparking a conversation.

"Yes, for many many years." Chōjírō said blankly.

"How do you deal with him?" I ask

"General Yamamoto is a great man." He said.

"Of course he is, but his tradition is not." I say. "Damn tea ceremonies."

"So you have taken part in his grand events." Chōjírō says finally smirking.

"Yes... we have all suffered." I stated.

"I enjoy western culture a bit more." He says.

       "I agree." I said happily.

"Have you ever been to America?" He says looking at me.

"Yes, I lived there for three years." I said happily.

"Wow, what's it like?" Chōjírō asks, his voice full of curiosity. I started telling him about America and all its fried and fat glory he was in awe until we came close to the end of our trip.

"Your grandfather will be waiting on the other side." Chōjírō said. I smiled and when the gate opened I closed my eyes as the bright sun blinded me. Once my eyes adjusted I saw him, my papa.

"Papa!" I shouted happily, I ran down a flight of stone stairs to him while many people stared at me. My papa held his arms open and I ran into them, collecting him in an embrace as I did so.

"Aika." My papa said happily. He pulled away from me and twirled me around. "You have grown so beautiful since I saw you last." He said happily. I smile at him and walk to kiss his cheek. He chuckles and kisses my forehead.

"Oh how I misses you papa." I say as I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn my whole body and before me, I see Ukitake and Kaien.

"Ukitake... Kaien." I say softly. Their smiles are big and everyone is looking at us. I squeal happily and jump into Ukitake's arms.

"Aika!" He says happily. "Your grandfather was right, you have grown." Ukitake said hugging me and then letting me go to Kaien to do the same thing.

"Look how beautiful you have gotten!" Kaien said. "Once you get situated you need to come by our squad. We can get reaquainted." Kaien said lettig me go, I decided to take the rest of my surroundings in. I was being stared at by every captain from my papa; Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto to Jushiro Ukitake, it was just a shame I knew nobody else.

"Everyone, This is Aika the Head captains granddaughter." Ukitake said happily.

"Well we know that. why is she here?" Some really tall man with spikes and bells said.

"She's here to join our ranks." Ukitake said.

"What? She looks like a human, does she even fight!?" The man asked again.

"She hasn't even gone through the academy." an ebony man said, I could tell he was blind by his glasses. There were continuous questions about my abilities and skills. I felt unwanted and questioned why I came.

"Enough!" My grandfather yelled hitting his sealed Zanpacto on the ground. "My granddaughter has been living under my wife's care for sometime now. Her mother was Kishima, and her father was Chimoji." There were gasps throughout the crowed, my father was known as a traitor for disappearing to be in the world of the living. Both my father and mother were very strong warriors, but they were both half soul reapers when they had me, for they were in gigais wen they conseaved me. I was a human with the abilities of a soul reaper.

"Aika is a pro at Kido, a master at the flash step, and she has achieved all the way up to bankai." Ukitake says. I looked down at my sword that was tied along my waist.

"She could easily beat any of you in battle if she so chose to. I have to say, even I am intimidated by her bankai." My papa says.

"Her own father was a traitor, how can you trust her?" The blind captain says.

"I know my father betrayed you guys. He did it in order to help his future family. That was his reason for living, and think back to then. There was a war happening, he refused to put my mother in danger or me." I said looking to everyone. "I'm strong and brave, I will earn your trust and be a good soul reaper." I said bowing.

"Well then old man, where will we put this flower of yours?" A man in a pink coat says. "I already trust her because Ukitake has always talked so highly of her." He said smiling at me, I smiled back.

"Any granddaughter of yours must be great, I would already follow her anywhere." A very large man with a bucket on his head said.

"And so would I." A man said, he had glasses on and thick brown hair, he looked so gentle.

"Well now, I see that she is wanted here." My papa said. "Aika will stay and live in Ukitake's squad until we find her a better squad, in the mean time she is free to do what she wants. I know all of you will love her. Now please go on about your business as usual and contact me with any problems." My papa said before leaving. After most of the captains left Ukitake approached me along with some others.

"This is Souske Aizen, Toshiro Hitsugaya, Byakuya Kuchiki, and Shunsui Kyoraku. Lets go get you situated." Ukitake said with my bag in hand. Atleast I was some what wanted.
