Chapter 5: Hisagi

It has been two weeks since I have entered the sereti. I have found insperation for something that is entirely mine. I love to write, so I wrote a story. I'm going to see if I can't get it in the sereti news paper. I had to go see captain Tōsen and then he would decide.

As I walked through the barracks of the blind captain I heard the most awful noise. It sounded like a cat mawling a whale.

"What the hell is that noise?" I questioned as I continued to walk. I soon got to a door and opened it only to find the lieutenant, Shūhei Hisagi attempting to play the guitar.

"What the hell are you doing!?" I yelled. A few on lookers chuckled and Shūhei shoved past me, in order to walk away. He left in a hurry and obviously flash stepped away from me because he was nowhere in sight.

"Fantastic." I said rolling my eyes. I decided to go and find Shūhei, I needed to apologize.

"It took me a while to find him. It was cold as the wind blew. I was Waring a red tube top and a black leather jacket. I had on a pair of tight black jeans and some unlaced combat boots. When I found Shūhei, he was turned away from me and was looking up at the sky, shivering and holding himself.

"Lieutenant Hisagi." I said gently. He turned and looked at me. Once his eyes hit me he rolled his eyes and turned full body to me.

"What the hell do you want?" Shūhei asked with an aggressive voice.

"I wanted to apologize." I said softly.

"Whatever." Hisagi said looking away from me. He sneezed and his face was slightly flushed.

"Look, your getting sick." I said sighing.

"Just leave me alone!" Hisagi yelled. I grunted and rolled my eyes before storming off. Why the hell was he so stubborn? I thought to myself as I walked off.

It was about two hours later when I was helping out down at the sick bay out of boredom. Isane had gotten the call from Captain Tōsen about Shūhei being sick. I told Isane I could handle it and without objection my tall friend let me go.

I was walking through the barracks with captain Tōsen to Shūhei's room. The whole walk was silent until I got to Shūhei's room.

"Shūhei is extremely stubborn. Call me if you have any problems." Tōsen said before walking away from me. I stood staring at the door before opening it. When I got inside I saw Shūhei laying down on his bed covered in blankets. He looked like he was sleeping so I shut the door and creeped in slowly. I strode on a creaky part on his floor and his eyes jerked open. I sighed and he sat up slowly, exposing a bare upper body.

"What the hell are you dong here?" Shūhei asked.

"Captain Tōsen called for a doctor." I said softly. I stepped forward slightly and looked everywhere but at Shūhei. I felt bad for insulting him earlier.

"Well where's Isane?" He hissed. "Your no doctor."

"You have a cold dumbass." I said. "Now let me evaluate you."

"Hell no!" Shūhei yelled. There was a knock at the door and then captain Tōsen entered.

"Shūhei, I will not have you acting so improperly towards Aika. She is here to help and I suggest you take it." Tōsen said before he did what would be his definition of looking at me. He then turned and left from wherever he may have come from.

"Now, how about that evaluation?" I said moving to the edge of Shūhei's bed. I put the back of my hand to his forehead and he felt warm. Once done I checked his pulse, internal temperature, and gave him some medicine. I was going to sit back down on the edge of his bed when he pushed me away.

"Ugghhh!" I said as my but hit the floor. "Why are you so impossible!?" I yelled.

"Why the fuck don't you just leave me alone!?" He yelled back. I just rolled my eyes and got off my ass and then walked out the door slamming it behind me.

                     *Shūhei's P.O.V*

Once Aika left I fell asleep. The medicine made me drowsy and also made me feel better. When I woke up the medicine must have worn off because I ached. I needed more medicine so I stood up and wrapped my blanket around myself. I was ready to walk out the door when I heard something. It was my guitar.

I listened to the music coming from it and it sounded amazing. It was beautiful actually. The sound made me open the door to reveal Aika playing it.

"You play guitar!?" I asked shocked. Aika stopped playing and she just looked at me.

"I was going to offer to teach you after I apologized, but you can see where that got me." She said cocking an eyebrow at me.

"Why..." I said clenching my fist. " Why don't you come inside." I said turning around and sitting on my bed once I got inside. Aika stood up and followed me in. She sat on the floor.

"How are you feeling?" She asked me.

"Okay... do you have anymore medicine? I asked her.

"Yeah." She said taking it off the table where she left it. I forgot all about that. I opened my mouth and she spooned the medicine into my mouth. It made me feel warm.

"So." She said. "Lets get started." She said, and so we did. I was honestly astonished to hear that Aika could sing and play. It made me smile some what. She showed me how to strum the cords right and how to tune the damn thing. When I played it actually sounded nice. I think I failed to notice I was actually having fun. She was ready to leave and I was surprised to find myself stopping her.

"Aika." I said hastily as she open the door.

"Yes Lieutenant?" She asked turning to me

"I'm hungry." I said immediately slapping myself for sounding so idiotic.

"Would you like to come with me to get something to eat?" She asked. I then realized I had very little money. "On me." She said. I smiled and nodded. Before we left Aika gave me her jacket and more medicine. I felt really warm and after catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I thought I looked good.

Aika and I walked in the cold down the street and I was worried she was cold.

"Aika, arnt you cold?" I asked worried

       "No." She said.

"You must be." I said. She chuckled and took my arm and put it around her. She was extremely warm. I could feel her through my jacket.

"My Zanpacto is a fire type. I'm always warm." She said. I smiled and she put her hand on the arm that was around her. IMy smile grew wider and we continued walking. On the way we ran into captains Ukitake and Kyoraku. They looked at her hand on my arm and then at me as if I did something. It was a little awkward but once we were out of their sight and in a small restaurant it was okay.

"So when did you get that guitar?" Aika asked after we ordered our food.

"When I went to the world of the living." I said bluntly. "It just looked really cool."

"Yeah, my brother and I were in a band. He's a much better guitar player." Aika said to me giggling. She must have been the Singer.

"So Aika, How do you like it here?" I asked her happily.

"I love it here. Everyone is really nice and I'm happy to see my papa." She said looking at me. I couldn't explain it but when she looked at me, my heart raced and I became breathless. That's how it was most of dinner went. We questioned each other and then left back to my house. We were.standing outside my door.

"Thanks for dinner." I said opening the door. I sneezed and Aika came forward

"You seem to be getting worse." She said.

"I'm fine." I said grabbing my head feeling a bit dizzy.

"No, no. Get into bed. I will stay and monitor you." She said pushing me into the room and into bed.  I got into bed and she took my temperature and did all the normal things a doctor would do. She was over my face looking into my eyes. Her light brown eyes looked into my dark ones. I didn't know what made me kiss her, but I did and she kissed back. It wasn't for long, but she did do it.

"Get some rest. I will be here if you need me." She said after pulling away and going to do some paper work at my desk. That was the last I saw of her before falling asleep.
